JOHN HICKEY'S 50th BIRTHDAY
PARTY
"The night went according to plan and was actually better
than we had hoped for. 'On the Edge' were brilliant and many of
our friends commented on how good you are. You certainly had people
up dancing which is what we wanted. Glad you enjoyed 'John's tales',
he is one of lifes lively characters! It was a shame you didn't
have the energy to come back for the curry- but understandable
with the amount of energy that is spent playing. The party finally
finished at about 4.30 am!! Great fun, but we are both very tired
now. John keeps saying "that was a great party," "that
was a great party." So thanks a million to you and the band
for your excellent playing. We look forward to hearing you again
soon.
All the very best to you and your fellow band members",

BRISTOL SHOGUNS V PLYMOUTH 26th Sept 2004
"Thought 'On the
Edge' were great - tremendous atmosphere in the bar after the
match. Even though we lost, it was fantastic to see so many people
stayed on for the music. Beer sales (and cider!) must have been
good with more revenue for the club"
"I think the atmosphere
was fantastic Sunday and I am sure a lot of hard work went on
behind the scenes so please keep it up if you can because this
will bring occasional supporters back, I'm sure."
"Shame you missed
On the Edge, they are great fun to watch."
"Lets be honest
- nobody was going to tell the band they are****- did you see
the size of them!!!!!
I think the lead singer
would have stopped a Plywood rolling bre amul by himself
A great way to finish
the day me thinks"
"The Healy brothers
(Dave on vocals and Terry on bass) are well known rugby players,
they used to be at Saracens before jumping over the hedge and
now do some coaching at Clifton."
"Just thinking aloud,
if we wanted to do a mega-fundraising event (Trust, SC, Peoples
player etc), wouldn't they be a great band to book for somewhere
like the Fleece."

OUR WEDDING
PARTY
"Thank you for a
brilliant party - we really enjoyed ourselves
and judging by the number of people who asked for your details,
so did our friends!"

We've been watching the
On The Edge for the past 15 years! Great band, Great atmosphere,
Roll on New Years eve!!!!
BUT, please please please, cut down Peter Gunn. Appreciate the
need to show off musical expertise!! but extensive solo's get
really boring. (comment
from the Bedminster Horns "What's she on about then?")

WATERSHED BRISTOL - 40TH
BIRTHDAY PARTY
"I have booked Dave Healy and the boys 4/5 times to raise
funds for our cricket club, filling the BAWA club ballroom (400
people) never presented a problem. People would contact me to
find out when the next date was!
Had them for my 40th last August at the 'Watershed', really good
night and as always a top performance from 'On the Edge', they
certainly enjoy the gig as much as the audience.
Memorable night, thanks chaps!"

THE 4TH EUROPEAN H.O.G. RALLY,
BAVARIA, GERMANY
"In the evenings everyone
was entertained by good live bands: The Teddy Bears, Project X
and On The Edge. For the second time running, the Dresser Light
Show was held and it was spectacular, too."

"ON THE EDGE REALLY CUT IT"
"One of the most professional,
polished and fun rock bands on the Bristol scene has to be On
The Edge.
Their mix of pop rock, good time
R & B and selections from The Blues Brothers song book proved
unfailingly popular with a packed and enthusiastic crowd at Bristol's
Fleece and Firkin recently.
The band's large and balding lead
singer and guitarist, Dave Healy, has been sweating it out on
the stage of smoke filled pubs for many years, and his musical
pedigree is all too evident.
With the first set consisting of
good time pub rock numbers with covers from Bruce Springsteen
to the Rolling Stones, the second half saw the band in Blues Brothers
gear, the brass section double in size, and lots of audience bopping
about to numbers like Soul Man and Everybody.
Their strength lies in doing the
familiar well and producing the ideal complement to a boozy good
night out.
On The Edge play regularly in the
Bristol area so for those who haven't already seen them, there's
no excuse."

ASHTON COURT FESTIVAL, BRISTOL
"Soul/blues covers band On
The Edge rushed to the festival from a lunchtime gig - it looked
as though they had picked up a few people on the way as 11 of
them took the stage to delight a dancing crowd with a good-humoured
and high energy performance, including a truly wonderful version
of Minnie The Moocher"

"DANCING ON THE EDGE OF SUCCESS"
"Take a heavyweight lead singer,
put him in dark glasses, and a suit two sizes too small, add a
raunchy rhythm and blues band and if you don't like dancing, stand
well back.
On The Edge are not for the faint-hearted.
They want to have fun and they know how to enjoy themselves.
Fronted by the imposing figure
of former rugby forward Dave Healy the band are going down a storm
on the city circuit.
Founder members Dave, Ian Jenkins,
and Kim Saleh got together when they played at a dinner for their
rugby club, Bristol Saracens.
They added more musicians from
the club and sax players Sally Galsworthy and Karen Potter.
"We started playing for fun,
and it just got more and more fun, if we stop enjoying it we will
stop playing," said Dave.
The band have been known to play
for up to three hours. They even do their own support slot of
American rock before bursting into the main attraction of hard-hitting
R & B and soul cover versions.
The band's philosophy is refreshingly
simple - they just want to play. "We would like to play somewhere
really big because we enjoy playing to big crowds," said
Dave.
"We're not bothered about
making a record or anything like that, we did a demo and it sounded
terrible, but it was a good day out."
On The Edge are back in action
after a brief break for their summer holidays. They play the Fleece
and Firkin tonight and the Showboat, Bristol on Wednesday."
Bristol Evening
Post - August 22nd 1987
"Take eight rugby-playing
musicians from the Bristol Saracens club, add a couple of women
horn players and what have you got - On the Edge, a no-holds-barred
raunchy rhythm and blues outfit.
A full house at the Fleece and
Firkin this week couldn't get enough of On The Edge as they belted
out a collection of R & B and soul covers.
Fronted by the imposing figure
of former Number Eight Dave Healy the band create an atmosphere
similar to that in the middle of the Saracens' scrum - hard, hot
and very sweaty."
